Gallo Family Vineyards, Gold Medal Award for Lobster Pot Pies See Gallo's Press Release Here Cundy’s Harbor, Maine - Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co. announced as the winner in the Outstanding Fish and Seafood category at The First Annual Gallo Family Vineyards Gold Medal Awards for their Pemaquid Point Lobster Pot Pie. Hancock Gourmet Lobster’s Pemaquid Point Lobster Pot Pie was chosen as one of the winners in the First Annual Gallo Family Vineyards Gold Medal Awards Honoring Artisanal Excellence. Gallo Family Vineyards, the first family of American wine, recognizes Americans have become increasingly attuned to the virtues of fine wine and food pairings. They established the Gallo Family Vineyards Gold Medal Awards to honor the highest caliber of artisanal food producers, and recognize excellence across a variety of food categories. The difficult task of judging fell to an esteemed panel: Malachy Duffy, Wine and Food Writer; Max McCalman, Maitre Fromager and author of Cheese: A Connoisseur's Guide to the World's Best; Ferdinand Metz, President Emeritus, Culinary Institute of America and President of the World Association of Chefs; Sara Moulton, Celebrity Chef and Cookbook Author, and Clark Wolf, Food and Restaurant Consultant. Once the artisanal nature of the product was confirmed, each entry was judged on appearance, aroma, texture and taste.
